I decided that since I had all these colors I would knit each cable in a different color. The only cable I had ever done before is the first one.  I'll probably use the others again sometime.  Thanks so much for a fun pattern.

Elizabeth enlarged the size of this lovely sweater by using needles larger than called for in the pattern plus four extra stitches. Her daughter can wear it now and for several years to come as she grows. Elizabeth said the pattern panels are not difficult and the pattern could be knitted by an intermediate beginner.

A cozy and soft shawl. Most things I knit are for other people, but this one is for me. I really like the "inside/wrong side" as the displayed portion of the shawl rather than the intended right side as indicated by the pattern.

I made this for a co-worker’s infant granddaughter who got over a year's use out of it (we live in Central NY and the sweaters never get put away). I changed the rolled edge to a more feminine crocheted shell edge and used flower buttons to keep it girly.

I made Debbie's Leisure Arts purse kit to use as my drag-to-and-from-work-on-the-train knitting bag. I used all but a 3" x 3" inch square of the lining material in the kit to make pockets inside, 3 on one side, 4 on the other, (two are crochet hook / pen sized). I'm on my 5th sweater as works in progress in this bag. Love the softness!

My name is Celeste. I am 82 years old and live in Brooklyn, New York. I made this cardigan sweater for my seven-year old grandniece, Brooke. It is knitted in parts: the ribbing first, then the stockinette stitch, the ski people on the sides, then the arms, and so on. I do not have a pattern as everything about knitting a sweater was taught to me at an early age. We did not need patterns back then - we learned by seeing older women knit and they taught me.

Knitted by: Celeste Padula (to contact Celeste, please write Rose Davis at simplehomemakerrose@yahoo.com ]

Pattern: My own creation.

Yarn: 3 skeins acrylic yarn

Needles: U. S. #3 and #8

I have been practicing my knitting here in the sandbox of southern Iraq, probably the only person here who sends a footlocker full of yarn from one assignment to another. It's the perfect portable craft. This is a picture of Chloe Grace, my only granddaughter and the first sweater I made after a plethora of scarves. It was great fun to play with.

Knitted by: Judy Porter [ judi.porter@kbr.com ]

Pattern: Debby Ware kit, "The Gumdrop Sweater and Hat"

Yarn: Cotton fingering weight yarn

Needles: #3
