When does an anniversary celebration involve a man other than your husband? |

Look what I saw walking into Book Expo America in New York City this week! I couldn't wait to visit with all the booksellers, librarians and other industry professionals who came to this huge book show! May 29, 2009 Photo by Jan Goldstoff |

My goodness we could be sisters. Twins separated at birth? Carol Laird is the Cedar Cove Days contest winner and she also attended my Savannah book signing. May 26, 2009 |

At a Sam's Club signing in Columbia, SC, I received a Freedom Coin from Ben and Delores Dolby. Delores and Ben, a young military wife and husband, came to the signing to give me a coin called Operation Iraqi Freedom. The coin is given to servicemen and women to pass along to others who have touched them or helped them in some way. Delores said reading my books helped her get through Ben’s deployment while he served in Iraq and healed from his injuries. I feel so blessed to be the recipient of this special symbol. May 2009 |

I was thrilled to be invited by the Hallmark Channel to visit the set of Debbie Macomber's Mrs. Miracle outside Vancouver, B.C. in April. That's Dan Wigutow, the talented producer, on the left, and the inimitable and comical Doris Roberts on the right during dinner after the set visit. Talk about perfect casting for Mrs. Miracle! I can't wait for the debut in December. April 2009 |

The busiest actors on the movie set were the two boys playing the out-of-control brothers who finally met their match in Mrs. Miracle. Between takes I got to meet "Judd" (left) played by Michael Strusievici, and "Jason," played by Valin Shinyei. That's Barbara Fisher, the fabulous Senior VP, Programming, the Hallmark Channel, who found a coat for me in wardrobe. April 2009 |

Debbie and Dorothy Rogers, a long-time reader, who lives in Cashmere, WA., enjoyed chatting at Cashmere Cottage Yarns "sit and knit" social. This occurred during Debbie's annual visit to Leavenworth, WA when she traditionally has a signing at A Book for All Seasons, shopping, wine tasting at the local winery, Icicle Ridge Winery, and relaxing. |

Debbie and Christina Skye dropped in on Needlework Unlimited, located in Minneapolis, MN. A friendly group, to be sure! Bottom row; (Left to right) Karen Weiberg Special events coordinator and Laura Schelde, Store Manager Debbie, Ellen Leebaw staff, Karen Rumpza owner. |

Thanks in large part to Scott Rodas, Program Coordinator for the Ocean County Library (pictured here), I had a fantastic time when I spoke with readers! March 2009

One of the things I love about speaking engagements is getting to meet readers, like Ann-Louise Smith, who drove from Columbus to Toms River, NJ, where I spoke at the Ocean County Library in March. Thanks, Ann-Louise, and I hope to see you in D.C. in July when I sign at the Romance Writers of America National Conference!

The day Wayne and I left Port Orchard for our annual December drive to Florida, the streets were packed with snow. I'm wearing a hand-knitted scarf with a Christmas tree design done in beads and designed by Sandy Payne, one of my partners in the yarn shop [ AGoodYarnShop.com ]. Sandy also made my cute hat. Those red gloves were given to me by Catherine Heuett, a local knitter here in Washington. (Am I lucky, or what!) Tucked away in the bags I'm carrying are several knitting projects for the long ride!
