Weather Show
Oklahoma City pulled out all the stops for me yesterday and brought on the most fantastic display of weather. I was greeted with twisters and hail the size of softballs. Instead of an interview with KFOR-TV, First News at 4:30 p.m. , I got to see the weather team in action as they kept viewers alerted to tornadoes as they developed. It was all very terrifying and at the same time exciting; but I was reassured as I was with my Oklahoma City publicist, Nancy Berland, who has been through these weather emergencies before. Linda Cavanaugh, the host of the show I was to have been on, was fabulous, answering my questions, even giving me a map so I could plot out the locations and paths of the tornadoes.
While I was in the thick of it, watching the newsroom activity and learning about wrap around wind and hooks echoes (developing tornadoes) , my poor husband Wayne was in the hotel, sick with a wretched cold. And can you believe it, he slept through the hotel alarms?!
My signing tonight at Sam’s Club might be sparsely attended because more turbulent weather is expected. I’d love to see you, but if there’s any danger, please think of safety first!
And if you missed today’s radio interview with Johnny Tan, which was an hour of fun, you can still listen in through the link provided in yesterday’s blog.
