Men and Their Dogs
<< All ArticlesDogs have always been a part of our family. We’ve had a number of dogs through the years that we treasured and cherished. Now Wayne and his good buddy Norm decided to take their dogs and go in the woods and do whatever it is men do in the woods with their dogs. These are he-men. Alpha males. Both construction workers. Big belly guys, large belt buckles. Men with guns and dogs. You get the picture. Their dogs—Ruffles and Peterkins.

My husband was a cat person before he met my Lab Rammie. He fell in love with her before he fell in love with me, I think. She was a 65 pound, graceful and athletic girl with a perfect smiling face. There was nothing Joel loved better than throwing to her up at Lake Granby or Dillon during the late summer months when the water was warm. She swam like a champ and would do whatever she could to please him. She is gone now, but those memories remain cherished to both of us.
Now, we have Bruin – another Lab. He’s 90 male pounds of huge, with a jumping gait – rather like a Tennessee Walker performing dressage. Rammie was a fox red Lab; Bruin is a creamy yellow with the most lovely golden eyes. He won’t swim – yet. We’re still working on that and I hope that, if you post a similar blog in the future, I will be able to report an awakening of his latent instincts. Hey, we discovered he could retrieve – his previous owners told us he had never done that! We figure it’s just a matter of time and effort on our part to get him paddling around in one of our clear, cold Colorado lakes!

Would love to be a squirrel among the trees just to see what goes on OR a bird in the trees.
Love the manly names they gave their dogs.
It’s a Bonding time.

Hi Debbie:
Men and their dogs! People and furbabies are
always an unconditional relationship of pure love
and companionship. Speaking of dogs, our
French Bulldog is named Fender.
Please keep writing, I enjoy every single book,
I’m just finishing Sweet Tomorrows.
Love, Luck and Laughter
