Spring
My mother was gifted with a green thumb. She loved yard work and our home was often the showcase of the neighborhood. A variety of flowers bloomed in our yard. I failed to inherit her talent to make things grow but I do love my yard with its abundance of flower beds. My garden produces a wide variety of vegetables and fruits which I’m proud to share with family and friends. As springtime rolls around, I’m already planning what I hope to plant. Spring is filled with hope for me. The promise of warmer weather, sunshine and lazy afternoons sipping iced tea. If I close my eyes I can hear birds chirping and the buzz of bees. The best part of the year is nearly upon us. Enjoy.

It makes me think about my childhood when are neighbors let my parents have a small garden on their land with another neighbor. Kind of reminds you of a community garden. I used to walk across the street with my dad and we would tend to the garden. I guess that was my time with my dad. Now that I think about it I’m surprised my dad even let me near a garden.(lol) Before we moved to that house are previous house I was probably 5 years old and decided my mom was to busy watching Soul Train and I was ready to go shopping that day. So I decided to hop in the car and the car went across the street into my neighbors garden. Oops. We laugh about it now not so funny back then though. We had really nice neighbors though that didn’t get upset about it. Luckily they didn’t have anything in their garden at the time. Last but not least I love what you wrote about hope in the spring. Last summer I found the joy of reading books again and going to the library. Oh how I loved doing that growing up. You are an amazing author that keeps your readers engaged in each book.

I have no green thumb. When we lived in Missouri with good soil I grew roses and carnations and 4 o’clocks. All that was necessary was peat moss and water. I miss that so much.

Hi Debbie! I just moved to a 55 and over community in February. While I was exploring all that is offered here, I found a small library. I was delighted to find several of your books! Like a longtime friend to enjoy while I settled in and adjusted to my new home! Just returning to the Pacific Northwest after living in So California for over a decade, to be near grandchildren (now teenagers!), I am especially enjoying stories set in area. Thanks so much for books that always make me smile, are sure to uplift, and give me hope that after 25 years of being a single Mom and Grandma, I could still meet my True Love, and enjoy a lovely relationship as well! Must Love Children!!! Thanks again, Debbie! (Perhaps a story in the future of baby boomers surprised and delighted by whole new lives in their sixties…including Love & Romance?!) And, better than back in the 60’s.
All the Best,
Robin Gabrielle

I just love Spring as a teacher! It has the promise of summer without all the humidity. I love seeing my daughter run around in her little Stride Rites jabbering on and pointing at the birds in the trees and closing her eyes and smiling as the wind whips across her little face. Spring is most enjoyable when you get to spend those warm days with friends and family over a meal. It is where planning for all of the future vacations and holidays occur and when we argue about who gets to host all of the special events. Undoubtedly, somebody will get their feelings hurt and by the end of the conversation we are not even sure about the argument’s origination. One of my favorite things is the opportunity to sit out on my screened-in porch (a necessity in the south) and read one of your novels. Knowing that my school year is coming to a close and that simpler days are ahead, I can relax and immerse myself in the pages where I can revisit friends and I know there is going to be a happy ending.

Dear Debbie, Hoping that soon you will be surrounded by your lush green gardens! Speaking of gardens I love roses and am waiting for my Husband Mark to help fertalize my rose bed and help with mulching. My wild flower field is rising up out of the cold earth and I can’t wait for all of the beautiful colors to appear! I love your Rose Harbor Inn Series and am wishing for a continued report on Mark amd Jo Marie. I would love to hear all about their wedding and children….Looking forward to reading your newest book. Spring is my favorite time of year as it is a time of new beginnings and new life.
Thanks for all of the happy endings!
