Fall Dessert
I have a notorious sweet tooth. I came by it honestly–my father and grandfather had one, too! The sad fact is Wayne can take or leave desserts. Except this one.
I can’t remember where I got the recipe, but I’m fairly certain a reader passed it along . . . or I might have heard someone talking about it while standing in the grocery line. Either way I’m sharing it with all of you. You’re gonna love it.
Baked Apples
2 apples, peeled, cored and divided into 4 pieces (8 pieces total)
1 can Crescent Rolls
1/4 cup melted butter
1/3 cup sugar mixed with 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
I 16-oz bottle of Mountain Dew (don’t use diet!)
Roll apple quarters in crescent roll, dip in melted butter and then in sugar mixture. Lay in 8" x 8" pan, side by side. Pour soda over wrapped apples and bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until sauce is thickened and crescent rolls are brown.
Yummy!
