Home!
The tour for Hannah’s List is now officially over. Seventeen cities in five weeks can just about do a girl in, except that I met such wonderful, patient readers along the way. Even the book stores I visited mentioned they’d never had such a fun group of readers. Yup, no doubt about it, I’m blessed.
I have a ritual I go through after being away for any length of time. I walk from room to room and take in all that’s familiar, all that’s home. I smile at the pictures of my children and grandchildren and blow a kiss at the photo of my parents taken a couple of years before they died. Invariably I check out the contents of the refrigerator because I know I’ll need to head to the store first thing in the morning. After walking from room to room, I settle down in a hot bath, relax and then crawl into bed. Really, there’s no place on earth more comfortable than one’s own bed. It’s good to be home. So very good.
