My Word of the Year
<< All Articles Every year I choose a single word for the year. I generally start thinking about it after Christmas, although every now and again a word will come to mind earlier and I’ll get confirmation sooner.
Last year my word was submit. I can tell you up front submit isn’t a word I would have chosen. You can imagine it made my husband quite gleeful! It took me far longer than it should have to realize God hadn’t given me this word in regards to my husband but meant it in my relationship with Him. I have this tendency to like to be in control. There are days when even my prayers have claw marks as I tried to grab them back, thinking, “Hey, wait a minute, I can do that!” Ha. Big joke.
My word for 2014 is light. I like this word. And frankly, being a light for God is my primary goal in this life. So I’m gonna let this light shine and eagerly await how light will reflect on my year. I’ll post a bit more about my word as the year develops.
